Buyer guide

Why R290?

R290 (propane) has a GWP of 3, against hundreds for HFC. The EU F-Gas rules ban GWP 150+ in new self-contained units from 2025. R290 is compliant, efficient, and cheap to service.

F-Gas timeline (EU)

2025: new self-contained commercial units must be below GWP 150. Sort your range now to avoid stranded HFC stock.

Australia specifics

MEPS/GEMS efficiency + RCM registration are mandatory. Spec T4 (38°C) tropical class for reliable performance. China–Australia FTA = zero tariff.

HS codes

8418.50 (furniture/display), 8418.69 (other), 8418.40 (freezers), 8418.99 (parts). Handy for customs & tariff checks.
